B360 Inclusive Education Initiative Coordinator (GED)

Borderless360 (B360) is seeking an energetic and dedicated person to support the B360 Inclusive Education Initiative (IEI) team to coordinate its Refugee General Educational Development (GED) programme and undertake other functions in support of the development of its Inclusive Education Initiative. The ideal candidate will have professional experience in working with and coordinating multiple and diverse stakeholders and possess strong organisational skills. The person must have a passion and sensitivity for supporting refugee populations, and a dedication to social justice, an interest in learning, and a creative approach to problem solving. B360 works as a team of independently driven people and expects the IEI Coordinator (GED) to maintain excellent teamwork and communication skills, while being independently motivated with a strong work ethic.

Borderless 360

B360 is a diverse and growing group of people from across many countries and cultures, ringing a broad spectrum of experiences and perspectives to a common vision. B360 has currently two main projects in its portfolio:

The Unheard Project

The Unheard Project is an initiative of B360 that consists of two parallel efforts designed to showcase the creative contributions of refugees to broader society: the Journalism Initiative and the Music Initiative. The Journalism Initiative produces a semi-annual literary magazine featuring writing and art by refugees that focuses on amplifying and developing the work of refugee journalists. The Music Initiative develops and maintains a dynamic music library, where visitors are welcome to stream music of all types all from refugee communities.

The Inclusive Education Initiative

The B360 Inclusive Education Initiative will pilot a progressive new education model for refugees and hosting community members in Thailand, through an approach that supports access and scholarship for those disadvantaged, while presenting a holistic educational approach based in community. It will increase access to education for disadvantaged young people while growing positive relationships between refugee and host country youth, helping to decrease xenophobia and misunderstanding as a critical step towards advancing progressive change.

The Inclusive Education Initiative Coordinator (GED) reports to the Co-Head and
Inclusive Education Lead.

Key Accountabilities

The Inclusive Education Initiative Coordinator (GED) provides support to B360 and carries out tasks in accordance with the B360 Code of Conduct and all other rules and regulations applicable to team members.

The primary responsibility of the Inclusive Education Initiative Coordinator (GED) is to ensure the effective and smooth delivery of online and on-site classes for refugee students who are at various stages of preparation for the GED exams. The individual must be comfortable with working in an online environment and be well versed with troubleshooting technical challenges related to online and in-person learning. The individual must also have demonstrated experience in organisation and coordination work and possess a maturity and sensitivity for working with at risk populations.

Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Working closely with the Inclusive Education team to coordinate the various
  • stakeholders including educators and students involved with the GED programme to ensure smooth and clear communication flows.
  • Ensure that all GED stakeholders adhere to the B360 Code of Conduct.
  • Act as the liaison between the B360 Inclusive Education team and the GED educators and students; and ensure that the B360 Inclusive Education team is kept abreast of the latest developments with the implementation of the GED programme.
  • Develop and implement the GED programme calendar and timetable for educators and students that includes deadlines for various assessments, submission of deliverables and other relevant programmatic plans.
  • Support with marketing and advertising future instalments of the GED preparation programme and participate in the selection process of eligible students.
  • Monitor student attendance and progress throughout the classes by keeping in close contact with the educators and developing attendance record keeping modalities.
  • Follow-up with students who are absent and/ or struggling with the classes.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support in ensuring that the students receive their assignments and materials in a timely manner and compile student records.
  • Provide timely and regular informal and formal monitoring and evaluation updates to the Inclusive Education team.
  • When required, support the Inclusive Education team with the necessary functions needed to facilitate the formal set-up process of the Inclusive Education Initiative.
Relationship Management
  • Represent B360 as required.
  • Work with the B360 Inclusive Education Lead and Project Manager to identify potential stakeholders who could open pathways for GED graduates.

Key Selection Criteria

Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in social sciences, education, directly relevant fields will also be considered if accompanied with work experience in project management and stakeholder liaison.
  • Experience with adult education and or teaching GED subjects is a bonus.
  • Experience with Waldorf education is also a bonus.


  • Minimum five years of work experience in education, project management preferably with a socially-responsible enterprise or non-governmental organisation.

Required Competencies

  • Fluent in oral and written English and excellent computer literacy skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in the coordination of online learning classes is a plus.
  • Outstanding skills in interpersonal communications particularly with diverse communities.
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of stakeholder relations.
  • Experience with online event management.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to the needs of the GED stakeholders, particularly the refugee students.
  • Ability to maintain good relations with colleagues, contributors, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Able to work proactively and supportively within a team.
  • A strong track record of planning and executing successful projects to deadline.
  • A sense of empathy, humility and passion for supporting marginalised communities.
