1. About the Competition
The Play Around the World Competition invites refugees and people from refugee backgrounds to share a game, activity or form of play that was meaningful to them when they were younger.
The competition celebrates childhood memories, culture, creativity and the many different ways people play around the world.
Participants may share their experience through a photo, video, artwork, illustration, written story or another format accepted by Borderless360.
2. Eligibility
The competition is open to refugees and people from refugee backgrounds.
Participants must meet any additional eligibility requirements specified on the competition page or submission form.
Participants under 18 years of age must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to participate.
Borderless360 may request reasonable information to confirm a participant's eligibility where necessary.
3. One Entry Per Person
Each participant may submit one entry only.
If multiple entries are received from the same participant, Borderless360 may consider only the first eligible submission or ask the participant to nominate one entry.
4. What to Submit
Participants are invited to share a childhood game, activity or form of play that was meaningful to them.
An entry may include:
- A photo recreating the game or activity
- A short video showing or explaining how the game is played
- Artwork or an illustration
- A short written story
- Another format approved by Borderless360
As part of the submission, participants will be asked to tell us about their experience, including:
What was the game called?
How was it played?
What is your favourite memory of this game?
Participants may also be invited to tell us where they played the game, who they played with, or whether people in their community still play it today.
We are interested in your personal story and memories. Perfect English is not required.
5. How to Enter
To enter the competition, participants must complete the official Borderless360 submission form:

Participants must also provide their competition content using one of the approved submission methods below.
Public Social Media
Participants with a public social media profile may publish their entry on a supported social media platform in accordance with the competition instructions.
Participants may be asked to:
- Tag @Borderless360
- Add Borderless360 as a collaborator where this feature is available
- Provide the URL to the published content in the submission form
The post and URL must remain accessible throughout the competition and judging period.
Social Media Direct Message
Participants who do not have a public social media profile, or who do not wish to make their profile public, may submit their photo or video directly to Borderless360 through social media direct message where instructed.
Content submitted privately may still be published by Borderless360 as part of the competition in accordance with Section 10 of these Terms and Conditions.
Unlisted YouTube Video
Participants who prefer not to publish their video through their own social media account may upload it to YouTube as an Unlisted video and provide the URL in the submission form.
The video must remain accessible through the submitted link throughout the competition and judging period.
Videos should not be set to Private, as Borderless360 and the judging panel may not be able to access them.Videos should instead be submitted through an approved social media platform, social media direct message, or an Unlisted YouTube link.
6. Accessibility of Submitted Content
Participants are responsible for ensuring that any link, post, video or other content provided with their submission remains accessible to Borderless360 throughout the competition and judging period.
If Borderless360 cannot access the submitted content, the participant may be contacted and asked to correct the issue.
If the content remains inaccessible, the entry may be considered incomplete or ineligible.
7. Original and Authentic Content
Entries should reflect the participant's own childhood memories, experiences or cultural knowledge.
Participants must not knowingly submit another person's story, photograph, video, artwork or other creative work as their own.
Where third-party content is included, participants must have the necessary permission to use and submit that content.
8. Use of Artificial Intelligence
Borderless360 recognises that participants may use digital tools to assist with language, accessibility and translation.
AI tools may be used to assist with:
- Grammar
- Spelling
- Translation
- Improving the clarity of written English
However, the underlying story, memory, experience and creative concept must come from the participant.
AI must not be used to invent a childhood experience, fabricate a personal memory or falsely represent the participant's background or experience.
Borderless360 may take the authenticity and personal nature of an entry into consideration during judging.
9. Content Standards
Entries must be appropriate for a general audience.
Submissions must not contain content that is:
- Illegal
- Threatening or abusive
- Discriminatory or hateful
- Sexually explicit
- Deliberately misleading
- Infringing another person's intellectual property or privacy
- Otherwise considered inappropriate for the competition
Borderless360 reserves the right to reject or remove an entry that does not meet these requirements.
10. Permission to Share Submitted Content
By entering the competition, participants give Borderless360 permission to share, repost, reproduce, display, and make reasonable formatting or editing adjustments to their submitted competition content for purposes connected with:
- The Play Around the World Competition
- Borderless360's social media channels
- Borderless360's website
- Competition promotion
- Community storytelling
- Educational and awareness activities relating to Borderless360
This permission applies whether the content is submitted through:
- A public social media post
- Social media direct message
- An Unlisted YouTube link
- An approved file upload
- Another submission method approved by Borderless360
Borderless360 will not claim ownership of the participant's original content.
Where practical, Borderless360 may credit the participant when sharing their submission.
11. Other People Appearing in an Entry
If another identifiable person appears in a photograph or video, the participant must ensure they have that person's permission to include them in the submission and for Borderless360 to share the content.
Where a child appears in the content, permission must be obtained from the child's parent or legal guardian before the content is submitted.
Participants should avoid including unnecessary personal or sensitive information about themselves or another person in their entry.
12. Judging
Eligible entries will be reviewed by Borderless360 and/or an appointed judging panel during the judging period.
Entries may be assessed based on:
- Personal connection and storytelling
- Cultural significance
- Creativity and originality
- Overall presentation
The quality of a participant's English will not be the main basis for judging.
Borderless360 may shortlist entries before selecting the winners.
The judges' decision will be final, subject to applicable law.
13. Competition Prizes
Three main competition winners will be selected through the judging process.
Each winner may choose between the available learning credit or Google Play Credit, subject to availability and eligibility in their country.
First Prize: USD $100 equivalent Learning Credit OR USD $50 Google Play Credit
Second Prize: USD $50 equivalent Learning Credit OR USD $25 Google Play Credit
Third Prize: USD $25 equivalent Learning Credit OR USD $10 Google Play Credit
The exact provider of the learning credit may be determined by Borderless360 based on availability, the winner's location and access to the relevant learning platform.
Where Google Play Credit or the advertised learning credit cannot reasonably be provided in the winner's country, Borderless360 may offer an alternative reward of similar value.
Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash unless otherwise determined by Borderless360.
14. Lucky Draw
In addition to the three judged prizes, two eligible participants will be selected through a Lucky Draw.
Each selected Lucky Draw participant may choose:
USD $25 equivalent Learning Credit ORUSD $10 Google Play Credit
The Lucky Draw is separate from the judging process and is intended to give additional eligible participants an opportunity to receive a reward.
Each eligible entry will receive one entry into the Lucky Draw.
Participants do not need to submit an additional entry to participate in the Lucky Draw.
Winners of First, Second or Third Prize will not also be eligible to receive a Lucky Draw prize. If a main prize winner is selected in the Lucky Draw, another eligible participant will be drawn.
The same prize availability and country restrictions described in Section 13 also apply to Lucky Draw prizes.
15. Winner Notification
The First, Second and Third Prize winners and the two Lucky Draw recipients are expected to be announced on 28 September 2026.
Winners may be contacted using the contact information provided in the submission form.
Participants are responsible for providing accurate and accessible contact information.
If Borderless360 is unable to contact a selected winner within a reasonable period, Borderless360 may select another eligible participant.
16. Competition Dates
The planned competition schedule is:
Competition Opens: 14 August 2026
Submission Deadline: 21 September 2026 at 11:59 PM UTC
Judging Period: After submissions close on 21 September through 28 September 2026
Winner Announcement: 28 September 2026
Entries received after the submission deadline may not be considered unless Borderless360 officially extends the competition period.
Participants are responsible for considering their local time zone when submitting an entry. The official deadline will be determined using UTC.
17. Changes to the Competition
Borderless360 reserves the right to reasonably amend these Terms and Conditions, the competition timeline, submission deadline, judging period, winner announcement date, submission process or other administrative aspects of the competition where necessary.
This may include extending the competition period depending on factors such as:
- The number of eligible submissions received
- Technical or accessibility issues
- Unexpected circumstances affecting the operation of the competition
- Circumstances affecting participants or participating communities
- Other operational reasons affecting the fair running of the competition
Any material changes will be communicated through the Borderless360 competition webpage, official social media channels or another reasonable communication method.
Unless otherwise stated, valid entries received before a change will remain eligible.
18. Cancellation or Suspension
Where circumstances outside Borderless360's reasonable control prevent the competition from operating as intended, Borderless360 may suspend, postpone, modify or cancel the competition.
Where possible, Borderless360 will communicate significant changes to participants through its official channels.
19. Personal Information
Information provided through the competition submission form will be used to administer the competition, assess entries, communicate with participants, contact winners and manage related competition activities.
Personal contact information such as email addresses and telephone numbers will not normally be published as part of a competition entry.
Participants should only provide information requested through the official submission process and should avoid including unnecessary personal or sensitive information in their competition content.
The handling of personal information will also be subject to Borderless360's applicable privacy practices.
20. General
Participation in the competition is voluntary.
Borderless360 is not responsible for entries that are lost, inaccessible, incorrectly submitted, deleted, blocked by a third-party platform or received after the deadline due to circumstances outside Borderless360's reasonable control.
Submitting an entry does not guarantee that the entry will be published, shortlisted or selected as a winner.
Borderless360 reserves the right to disqualify an entry where it reasonably believes these Terms and Conditions have not been followed.
21. Acceptance of These Terms
By submitting an entry, the participant confirms that:
- They have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
- They meet the eligibility requirements for the competition.
- The information provided in their submission is accurate to the best of their knowledge.
- Their submitted story and memories are authentic and based on their own experience.
- They have the necessary permission for other people or third-party content included in their submission.
- They give Borderless360 permission to use and share their competition content as described in these Terms and Conditions.
- They understand that eligible entries may also be included in the Lucky Draw.
