Yaz (not her real name) is one of our Borderless360 Inclusive Education Initiative online students who faced many challenges in 2022 when schools were closed due to COVID-19, and education became a question mark in her life.

However, with the help of B360, Yaz, an asylum seeker, was given an opportunity to move towards her future ambitions. We provided her with the foundation and preparation for the General Educational Development (GED) tests she needed to continue her disrupted education.

“I have also made great friends and teachers and met great mentors through the programme," says Yaz. In 2023, she has set her sights on achieving her biggest goal yet: completing her GED Mathematics and English examinations, and pursuing her dream of becoming a human rights lawyer.

“There are many things that I want to do in my future life. A law education will be the strongest foundation and strength for achieving my dream."

Yaz strongly believes in the power of education to change lives, especially for the marginalized people who are denied basic human rights. She wants to use her education to fight for justice and make a difference in the world. With the necessary education qualifications and support, Yaz will have the foundation she needs to fulfil her vision and make a lasting impact.

“The GED education is the initial foundation for fulfilling many of my expectations. I will fight as much as possible to finish this in 2023 and achieve my dream.”

Yaz’s passion for making a difference and helping others is truly inspiring. “I have to make the change I can. I want my name to be spoken among people even after my death. I believe that is the mark of having truly lived in this world.”

You have our full support, Yaz! We are proud to be able to help you towards achieving your dreams.

Yaz is also a talented artist. Here are some of her henna-inspired drawings.
